Built for a schedule that cannot slip
Dialysis runs your week. Three sessions, four hours in the chair, the same days every week, for as long as it takes. Transportation that is 'usually reliable' is not reliable enough — a late pickup means a shortened treatment or a missed one, and that is a health outcome, not a customer service issue.
So we build dialysis riders a standing schedule rather than a series of one-off bookings. Your chair time drives the pickup window. The same trip repeats week after week without you calling to rebuild it. And we plan the return leg for what post-treatment actually feels like — tired, lightheaded, unsteady — rather than treating it as a mirror image of the ride in.
The return trip is the one that matters most
Nearly everything that goes wrong for a dialysis patient in transportation goes wrong on the way home. Blood pressure drops, energy is gone, and the walk from a curb to a front door becomes genuinely risky. Door-through-door assistance is standard on every Heart2Heart ride, which means we do not leave you at the curb after treatment — the driver walks you inside and makes sure you are settled.
The comfort package — blanket, climate control, bottled water — is included, and it earns its keep on the post-treatment leg. One companion rides free if a family member comes with you.

If authorization is not in place yet, we will say so and quote you the private-pay rate so treatment is not missed while paperwork moves. Your clinic's social worker is usually the fastest path to getting it started — they handle this constantly.
Heart2Heart does not accept Medicaid under any circumstances. If you are a Georgia Medicaid member, your plan's transportation broker arranges those rides.
